HNC 59 v Ryland 46

Hucclecote played host to Ryland for round 12 of National Premier League 2.

HNC started well with a quick goal from their CP and then another by turning Ryland’s CP. Play was fast and goals were exchanged between the two sides with play staying even. Rosie Allison displayed another dominant performance in the shooting circle supported by sidekick Thea Thompson who between them netted 13/15 attempts.

Going into the 2nd quarter HNC had a 2 goal lead so still had to put a good shift in if they were going to win the game early. With instructions to reduce the unforced errors and tidy up in our delivery the quarter started well. Momentum stayed with HNC and we hit a 3 goal followed by a 5 goal run. Ryland didn’t respond and by half time were up 29  20.

Half time changes saw Captain Sam Cook go back to GK and Yas Hodge-England take to court at GD. As the focus shifted to converting the turnovers Hucclecote continued to maintain the upper hand. Laura Tildesley at WD and Sarah Adams at C kept the error rates low. By the end of the quarter we were up 43 – 32.

To close the game out Hodge-England went to GA and Kellie Hull returned to court at GK. Ryland still pushed hard with a 4 goal splurge which went unanswered by Cote. We gained composure and continued to work hard until the final whistle.
