Prem put out a much improved performance against 2nd in the league New Cambell today narrowly missing out 58 - 61. With many players missing to Superleague commitments we caglled upon Katie Pauling and Ellen Morgan to join the squad. We also welcomed the return of Hannah Agbeyegbe who joined Shaunagh Craig in defence. Prem started well with the attack finding Rosie Allison with ease. Both teams were performing well but it was Cote who came out 4 goals up at Q time. With the defensive unit working hard we turned more ball in Q2 which was patiently moved through court. A dominant 6 goal run pushed HNC ahead further (8 goals at one point) however, New Cambell fought back to close it to just 3 goals by HT. Changes made saw Shona O`Dwyer move to C and Anna Scott to WA. New Cambell moved experienced defender Lindsay Keable back to GK which made our attack have to think about our feeds . With some unforced errors creeping in NC were able to take advantage. Katie P took to court for her Prem debut and really stepped up. She picked off ball in mid court allowing HNC to convert and keep the scoreline tight. For the first time NC took the lead and momentum. The last Q saw Eleanor Roberts return to GA and Sarah Terese Adams back to C. Both teams moved the ball well but it was NC that had the advantage. At one point going ahead by 7. HNC proved yet again that they have a strong finish and kept their heads to secure a 3 goal run. Momentum was definitely with Hucclecote in the latter stages but it was just too late to take the game. Plenty of positives to take and a confidence boosting performance as we go into the Xmas break.
