Under 16ís had an excellent start to the season at the weekend in the Bentham tournament, this year the set up was different the Tournament at the start of the season & Hucclecote under 16ís had to win. Although Bentham league never pushed the squad they all knew they had to play well to get through to the regionalís, the squad played some really good netball down court with first time balls, & timing paid off, whatever combination they did well, they did have a blip half way through but coach Ben Hania had a word & they were back on track, stepped it up a gear in the next match ready for Old Chelts who themselves were aiming to win the Tournament, this was the hardest match the under 16ís would have, with the first five minutes score 4-2 in our favour the squad couldnít relax the girls dug deep, & won 6-4.
Old Chelts A 6-4
Old Chelts B 12-2
Tommies 10 Ė 4
Randwick 17 Ė 2
Cirencester 11 - 1
Hucclecote C 9 = 3

Hucclecote Under 14 Tournament
This weekend we entered two teams into the under 14 tournament at Bentham Country Club. I took all players that were available to play in the tournament and we knew it wasnít going to be easy at we have only had two training sessions before this.
The under 14 A team was captained by Catherine Taylor and the B team by Fran Hummel.
Both teams had 4 matches in their groups. The Aís won three out four of their matches losing by 1 goal to Randwick in the final seconds of the game. They beat Old Chelts B 7-6 in their first game of the day, they beat Stroud 10-3 in a great squad performance and beat Cirencester 4-0 in their final game. Unfortunately, due to just losing by that 1 goal meant we didnít reach the final however the whole team played well and showed some very promising signs for the season to come.
Team: Rhiannon Lowery, Elleri Davies, Evie OíConnor, Catherine Taylor (Captain), Heather Longbotham, Emily Lane, Caitlin Santacroce, Megan Jennings, Laura Collard
The B team had a very large squad today with lots of centre court. They had a tough section and everybody tried their best. There was knew combinations new players and we lacked some experience however we can take this away with us as a learning experience and we now have factors we can focus on.
I was very impressed with all players today and that every single player acknowledged the umpire whether it was in our favour or not and this goes a long way. Well done girlies!!!
