Once again Lightning raised their game to take on unbeaten Gloucester Ladies A. They were very unlucky not to hang on to a win, but to loose by 3 was a great result.

Lightning stormed into a 13 -9 lead with some great shooting by Maisie Simmonds 7/9 & Rachel Price 6/7.

Glos Ladies looked a bit shell shocked after the first quarter but came out really hard in the 2nd period, restricting Simmonds & Price to only 10 attempts between them.

They closed the gap to within one goal by half time with their shooters converting 11/11!

A change of mid court saw Katie Lyons move to WD, where she was able to put more pressure on the Glos feed & Kim Locklin to C who along with Kat Honeywill at WA,  found Simmonds more easily.

Even though she matched the Glos shooters for accuracy, they had more attempts & took a 1 goal lead going into the final 15 minutes.

Millie Mather & Jo Hutchins worked tirelessly in defence, making life difficult for the Glos shooters, but with another 100% quarter, Glos edged ahead to win by 3 goals.
