Lightning took the court with more confidence than in recent weeks with the return of Gemma Lott at WA & Millie Mather at C.

Play was even for the first 15 mins with Gloucester Ladies taking a slim lead through the accuracy of their shooters. At the other end, Lightnings shooters struggled to find consistency with Stella Ben Hania & Kat Honeywill only converting 7/14.

Mather had an outstanding game at Centre, linking well through court but also using her defensive ability intercepting numerous balls mid court.

At the back end Georgia Chillingworth, Lizza Mitchell & Kay Daszewski

worked hard to cut out the ball to the Glos shooters but their movement & inter play in the circle often caught them wrong sided.

A change in the shooting circle saw Alicia Joynes come on at GS & though took time to settle began to create more opportunities. Kat Honeywill really took on the GA role & began to get the better of her marker, converting 7/10 & Joynes 7/9.

The score rarely had more than a couple of goals between them, with Gloucester having the edge. In the final quarter Hari Caple coming on at GK & Chillingworth at GD had an impact & Hucclecote clawed back the 3 goal deficit.

In the final minutes, either team could have won the game. Lightning left the court happier with the draw than their opponents who probably thought they should have hung on to win.
