Hucclecote U.14 A   75  v Stroud    2

Hucclecote U.14A stormed the first quarter against a younger and less experienced Stroud side.  Jane Taylor (Capt)  , who was recently selected at just 13 years of age into Team Bath Futures squad, started the game at GA and was on fire.  Taylor dominated in the mid court area stealing goals as well as shooting and netting the majority of the shots.  The first quarter ended in Hucclecotes favour with an amazing 19-0.

The second quarter saw the game continue in the same way with Ellie Parker finding her range and demonstrating some great movement and linkages with Lucy Martin.  Stroud could do little to contain the talented Hucclecote shooters who were well supported by Carys Jones and Emme Hale at C and WA.  A further 19 goals were netted leaving Hucclecote at 38-0 ahead at half time.

The second half proved just the same and with defenders Alesha Dudey, Issy Robinson and Hannah McCoubrie all turning ball continually whilst rotating round in defence, Hucclecote began to run up a huge number of attempts to goal.  Carys Jones also turned 3 clear intercepts on the WD proving tight on the WA and putting her under pressure. Hannah McCoubrie put out a strong performance taking 10 interceptions throughout the game.

At times, the fast paced game was slick and had the crowd in awe, and whilst Stroud fought on valiantly, Hucclecote ended up taking a big victory 75 goals to 2 to secure 5 more points to their leadership position.

Player of the match for Hucclecote was Jane Taylor who produced outstanding form for the majority of the game.
