Match Report Hucclecote B - 16 March 2014

> With the last U12's league matches of the season, Hucclecote B wanted to
> give a good team performance and try and work well as a team to win some
> games. With so many girls to give court time and experience Hucclecote B
> have had to adjust regularly to different combinations which makes match
> play more difficult. This being said they took the court with plenty of
> positivity and energy. The first game was against Challengers U12 Rockets,
> we won the toss but some anxious first match nerves lost us the first centre
> pass and two early goals to Rockets put us in a defensive position. Issy
> Green and Esme Chance fought hard in the opposition circle to create
> turnovers, in the second half shooting combination of GA, Mea Bradley and
> GS, Sophia Watson caught up some of the goal difference, moving well in the
> circle to finish the game 3-6 to Rockets. The second game was against Old
> Chelts who played a great start to the game. But some strong centre court
> attacking by Hucclecote B, WA Maddie Norwood and C, Beth Meeks created some
> lovely opportunities for shooters Mea Bradley and Holly James. However
> despite giving Old Chelts a strong game, Old Chelts ran out the winners 3-6.
> The third game against Glos Little ladies saw two quick early goals by Holly
> James to give us the lead. Evie Davies as WA with Maddie Barnett in C gave
> the shooters great circle edge support. As did the second half combination
> of C, Bella Hague and WA Jenna Townsend and GA Maddie Norwood, who created
> a strong combination in attack and Hucclecote B ran out the winners at 6-2.
> The last game was against Hucclecote A. Some last minute tweaking to the
> line-up gave Hucclecote A some thoughtful moments as just before half time
> the Hucclecote B was leading 3-2. Some outstanding defence by Issy Green and
> Esme Chance, created opportunities and strong midcourt attack by Eva
> Griffiths in WA and Beth Meeks in C gave our shooters Mea and Sophia the
> opportunities they needed. The second half saw Hucclecote A raise their game
> and defence, but some impressive defending by Holly James and Issy Green
> gave the opposition some work to do. For a team who have had limited court
> time together, there were lots of positives to take out of the day. Some
> very strong court combinations were created and all the girls enjoyed the
> day and behaved with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship and were a credit to
> the club.
