Sunday 20th October
Hucclecote B v Cirencester A
Hucclecote U14B's were ready for a tough game against Cirencester A team. The first quarter was looking positive as the girls made many interceptions presenting opportunities for the attack, ending two adrift, 5-7 inCirencesters favour.
Although Hucclecote passes became stronger in the second quarter, little mistakes and rushed movement allowed Cirencester to pull ahead to make the score 9-12 at half time.
Hucclecote had to adjust their play and started to get into the game even more with some brilliant interceptions from Amy Morse and Jodie Ems and better passing between Daisy Mann and Becky Patten. Unfortunately the Cirencester defence was strong so the girls struggledto get the pass into the shooting circle. This left the score at 19-13 to Cirencester at three quarter time.
Coach Tash Watson who was over-seeing the squad for the first time made changes and the team morale increased as the girls went on court with the determination to win.
These changes made an instant impact as everyone went for every ball. Emma Bennett made lots of interceptionsand some brilliant work between the shooting duo of Daisy Mann and Emily Yates to get the ball in the goalpaid off. The final score although a small loss at 18-21, was a brilliant effort by the Hucclecote girls, and brilliant final score.
