HURRICANES V CLEEVE FILLIES – win 49 - 32
Possession was fairly even in the first quarter which wasreflected in the score of 9 all.
With Hurricanes missing 2 of their regular shooters it fell to Kate Mather & youngster Emme Hale to convert possession and even though they had twice as many attempts as `Fillies, the score `was still level at half time due to 95% conversion by the Fillies GS.
Capt Nicky Jennings was on top form at the back, well supported by another youngster, Ella Powell Davies, also in her first season at this level.
A complete change in Hurricanes line up saw Jennings move to GS to provide more of a target and Rosanna Armstrong come on at GK to try to deny Fillies GS shooting opportunities. The mid court, Emma Johnson & SimoneUlyate, led by Becky Vaughn began to penetrate through court more smoothly & going into the final quarter 3 goals up was enough to start the run.
During the final 15 minutes Hurricanes stamped theirauthority on the game and ran away to take the match 49 goals to 32
