Hucclecote Panthers notched up further two wins today in style taking on Ferndown for the first time this season where they ran out comfortable winners 54-27 and 40 minutes later  stormed to another 51-35 victory against Team Bath.
Panthers first quarter though was sluggish in comparison to last's weeks first game on court and this showed with Ferndown staying in touch during the early phases of play. It was Eve Saunders turn to turn the crowds as she stole interceptions and rebounds continually playing her best game of the season so far and this helped to secure a 9-7 and then 22-12 lead at half time.  The second quarter was more dynamic, with Caitlin Santacroce replacing Captain Ella Powell Davis who was struggling with a back issue.  Although Panthers went 37-23 up at 3/4 time, it was their final quarter where the big margin appeared as Jane Taylor stepped it up and suddenly netted 13/16 attempt's in this quarter alone taking their tally and victory to 54-27.
The second fixture against Bath saw a surprise first quarter score where Panthers normal attacking line up of Emme Hale, Jane Taylor, Lucy Martin and Elisha New nailed it  leaving Bath standing.  With Captain Ella Powell Davis on fire at GD turning 4 clean intercepts, and Eve Saunders once again supporting hard and also turning 3 intercepts Bath had little response.  This allowed Panthers to go on a run of 9 goals in 9 minutes without reply and it was well into 10 minutes gone before they scored.  Robinson also kept the Bath WA off the edge and restricted well and was quick to set up zero defence.  Bath struggled in this period with Panthers set using a tight set up on their Centre Pass , and this was reflected in the 17-3 quarter score which really set them up for the victory.
This game also gave Coach Gilly Salter opportunity to use all of her squad, and whatever the combinations, Panthers always looked comfortable and in control. Young U.15 players McCoubrie and Parker both slotted in to the squad well  and with the Taylor /Hale combo looking really slick, and Lucy Martin taking control in attack, Cote continued to power on taking the win 51-35.
This leaves Panthers at the top of the league and with only two games remaining, they are hot favourites to take the title.
