Match Report
Firebirds v Ciren B
Full time score 32/9

Firebirds started the game well, with the ball turned over from Ciren B`s centre pass and a long ball into Katya put Firebirds on the scoreboard.  A succession of turnovers and from Megan and Zoe in defence kept the ball away from the Ciren goal and some excellent shooting from Katya and Nataha, saw Firebirds exit the first quarter 11 /0 in the lead.  Megan took 6 intercepts in Quarter 2 and Katya kept her shooting accuracy taking some great long balls to exit at half time 16/0 in the lead. Some great play from Evie Davies, Jess Gwatkins and Maisie Taylor through Centre court maintained the dominance. With Megan and Katya racing back, at half time, to join the Dragons at Cheltenham College, the remaining 7 Firebirds continued to dominate the court. Ella Halpin joined Natasha Young in the shooting circle for Q3 and Q4, both kept the goals going in, to exit the quarter 23/3. Emma Clarke replaced Evie as Centre and Evie stood in to GK to cover the short fall in the defensive circle. Zoe and Evie continued to take intercepts and made short work of the Cirencester attack. The team worked effectively and consistently to win ball and the error rate was much lower than previous weeks. Although not a challenging match, the girls still played well drilled netball, working the ball safely through court and around the circle.
Some outstanding play this week from all the girls, including some text book set up in the shooting circle, Tash!  Lovely to see it working so well.
Thank you to all the sideline support, scoring parents and stats takers. It`s always a great team effort.
My player this week is U13s ringer Ella Halpin, for making space so well and using the circle very effectively.
