Hucclecote were determined to make their mark on this first appearance in PL2. Against a physical Kent side, we didn’t start that game with the clinical netball we had hoped. Unable to take our turnovers to goal we allowed KCNC to go 4 ahead within the first Q.

As the team adjusted to the tempo of our attack Hucclecote started to show great speed through court. New signing Lucy Richardson worked hard, often in a 2 v 1 situation, to take the ball through to our shooters who worked together effectively. By half time Cote had taken the lead by 1 goal.

During the third and fourth quarter HNC grinded it out and continued to increase their lead. Kent constantly applied pressure but we managed to convert the all-importantturnovers to stretch the lead to 6.

A switch between Kellie Hull at the back and Yas Hodge-England at GS created issues for Kent. Gutsy defence by Yas and Ella P-D turned ball and gave Cote the final push needed in the latter stages of the game.

A promising start for Hucclecote with all squad members getting court time.
