Hucclecote were determined to come out with a win against a very young Bath team. With a big squad we knew we would have fresh legs available throughout the game. The first quarter started well, gaining 8 goals before Bath had achieved 1. We seemed to playing very quickly, at pace that was not always resulting in clinical netball and saw some possession wasted at times, which let Bath back into the game at times. However, the first quarter ended in a 4 goal lead to Hucclecote.
With a few changes, putting on fresh legs after a rapid first quarter, the 2nd quarter began. We needed to play our own game, at our own pace. Bath had made a few changes and sorted their shooting circle out and they were determined to get back into the game. This resulted in Bath catching up on their 10 goal deficit to make the score 17-16 to Bath.
Half time saw more changes, due to a big squad, but we were determined to get our lead back and take the win, which we knew we were capable of. The quarter started well and we had begun to play our own game. With good pressure against Bath, resulting in held ball and forced errors we pushed to regain a lead and further it throughout the quarter. The third quarter ended well with a 10 goal lead in our favour.
The fourth quarter saw a couple of changes to positions but we still had the aim to further our lead, the game was not over. During the fourth quarter we worked hard tocontinue to increase our lead. With quick release and good cohesion throughout the court, we had the win: 46-30.
