Hucclecote stood up to a strong and physical lawn side in their 3rd match of the Regional 1 Premiership taking the first quarter 10-5 due to some outstanding defensive work by Barret at GK, Captain Jane Stringer GD and Kerry Walsh at WD.

All players worked tireslessly and played to plan although contested balls at times put Hucclecote under pressure.  With a lead of 19-12 at half time changes were made allowing the whole squad to participate substituting and bringing on Carly Taylor to GA and Hannah Faulkner to WA  moving Iffil to C.  As previous games when changes were made, this took time to settle and alongside this Lawns re-arranged shooting circle also took time for the Hucclecote players to re-adjust.

However, as the game progressed,  Sue Wainwright stepping in as coach in the absence of team coaching mate Salter, kept the squad focussed .  Gemma  Hallbrook was back to her form of old at Shooter and had a stunning game against tough defence scoring 27/32 shots overall = 84%.

Captain Jane Stringer continued to excel showing consistency in her speed and agility by taking 18 turnovers from the opposition during the hour.

A final result of 37-28 was a fantastic improvement on performance from their last encounter where Hucclecote's victory was just 2 goals which will keep them placed in the top slots in Regional 1.

Well done!
