After a defeat last week away at Kent, all the team were really up for an exciting win at home, against last years winners of the premier league, Academy.
Having lost both times last season to Academy in tight thrilling matches, we all knew we had a tough task ahead of us. On top of this, Superleague is also now well under way, meaning that various players from both sides were on match restrictions (a player can only play 6 quarters of domestic competition across a weekend) and so we were all ready for a match with many changes and combinations on court.

Hucclecote started strong, and continued throughout the game to be much more effective at retaining possession, than in recent matches, which really aided the game through tough patches where both teams were goal for goal.
There were always only a few goals between the teams either way, and was a real physical battle between players on court.

Everyone was pleased to see the return of Ffion from injury and she made a real impact on court when she came on at half time with clinical shooting accuracy.

The last quarter was especially tough, with both teams having a lot of vocal support from the sidelines. Having fought a strong battle throughout the match, Hucclecote came away with a well deserved win.
