Panthers U.16s played in the first tournament of the season and fielded a mixture of last Years U.14s who have now moved up an age group combined with a couple of u16s . With trials completed on Friday this new look squad took the court confidently and with Paige Baker leading her team well, they won their first fixture against Cirencester 17-3.  The shooting unit of Katya Jennings, Paige Baker proved too strong and with excellent attacking play and feeds from Amy Cook and Olivia Garrard, Cirencester struggled to contain them.  Their dominance continued as they trounced Stroud Hawks 20 goals to 1, and then Randwick Ambers 17-1 with newcomers Tiara Cowley, Phoebe Palmer-O’Riordan and Hannah Obikudu all stepping up well to the new challenge.  Panthers gave opportunity to all 12 of their squad against Challengers Flares  and Challengers settled line up did well to contain the score as Panthers only ran out winners 9-4. Their most challenging game in their section was against Old Chelts and after initially losing their first centre pass and looking nervous, Panthers pulled back a one goal deficit, and with some amazing quick release netball saw Meg Knight, and Connie Trendle provide some super intercepts.  Great determination saw Panthers pull the score line up by one goal as they won 11-10 putting them through to the semi-final where they once again stepped up and with Vice Capt Charlotte Leaman dominating at WD, and Eva Andrews finding some great space into her shooters. The score line of 23 goals to 5 secured them a place in the final.  The final saw two Hucclecote U.16 Teams take the court however on the day, it was a strong performance that saw Flames take the title on the day although Jenny Carson stepped up in the second half .  This was a brilliant start to their season and shows much promise for the future of the club with both Teams dominating throughout. Thank you to GCNA, the Umpires. Volunteers and  parents for their support and finally to Gilly Salter the Panthers Coach.
