Hucclecote Panthers U.16s 36 V Challenger Flares 9

Once again Hucclecote proved their dominance and went out at a lightening pace against Challengers with Megan Knight on fire taking a huge number of interceptions. This in turn enabled Panthers to take the ball to goal, and in a ten minute quarter, Panthers shooter and Captain Paige Baker dominated on the shots,  converting 8 from 8 in the first quarter and helping Panthers to a  10-1 lead.  Their winning ways continued into the second phase and with Maddie Pronini linking well with Olivia Garrard in mid court, and with Tash Young on at GA, a further 10 goals were scored taking the lead to 20-5 at half time.  Rotating the players, Jenny Carson took on the GS bib and with the defence unit of Charlotte Leeman, Connie Trendle and Meg Knight pressurising, their third quarter ended the same, netting a further 10 goals leading 30 - 4.  Challengers worked hard to maintain possession and they produced a better performance in the final phase but with Tash Young feeding well from the WA position, and Megan Knight joining Katy Kalap in defence, Hucclecote`s 5 points were never in doubt as they ran out winners by 36 goals to 9 maintaining their unbeaten record and leaving them with a huge goal average at the top of the league table.  Meg Knight was awarded player of the match for an inspirational and dominant performance.
