Hucclecote Hurricane's struggled to stamp their authority in their match with C&G United. They started strongly taking the quarter 16 – 10 with Rachael Palmer in outstanding form netting 13/14.
During the next quarter C&G stepped up a gear while Hucclecote were penalised for numerous unforced errors.
At half time C&G found themselves in the lead by 4 goals.
Hucclecote's error rate improved in the third quarter allowing them to close the deficit by one goal.
Going into the final 15 minutes in the unusual position of trailing, Hucclecote started with determination but continued to be penalised for minor errors. Although Hucclecote's defence trio Laura Mitchinson, Jo Hutchins and Tammy Powell worked tirelessly they struggled to contain C&G's attack.
Three crucial interceptions in the last few minutes by Tammy Powell playing out of position at GD, allowed Hucclecote to edge ahead by three goals, taking the match 51-49.
Although Hurricanes made hard work of this match, nothing can be taken away from C&G who played extremely well with a much improved performance from earlier in the season.
