Comets lost their match with Plymouth Pilgrims who were relegated from Div 1, though it was closely contested, initially going goal for goal.
With Meg Randall netting 11/13Comets only trailed by 1 at the first interval.
Plymouth’s GS at 6ft 3 was converting with ease although Tee Cowley & Ehlana Drury worked tirelessly to cut out the ball to her.
Error rate by Comets attack through the attacking third & feeding the circle, allowed Plymouth to edge into a lead and go 8 ahead at half time.
Changes in the attack bringing on Ella Flatman at WA & Emily Lacey at GA had an immediate impact with Comets scoring 4 without reply from Plymouth.
Lacey in her first game at Regional level & having been out for over 9 months with injury displayed great promise in the shooting circle.
Comets closed to within 7 during the 3rd Q with some super clean intercepts from Tee & Ehlana chasing down every ball.
With Meg & Emily converting 16 goals to Plymouth’s 13 in the final Q, Comets tipped & forced errors, closing with every minute.
Final score of 52-60 to the visitors
was disappointing considering  the amount of possession Comets had, but the whole squad showed commitment & determination on court.
This squad is young & lacking working as a unit at the moment
but at times displayed what they are capable of. With more consistency bringing the ball through court & familiarity the wins will start to come.
