With a new defensive line up, Lightening started with a slow but encouraging start to the game. Leger and Hutchins worked together in turning over the ball but a few unforced errors and rushed passes allowed Cirencester to keep a small gap on the score.

The 2nd quarter saw lightening starting to settle, especially in the shooting circle with consistent shooting from Ben Hania and Olley, likewise in the defensive circle, Leger and Hutchins were made to work harder as Cirencester also started to settle and feed more passes into their shooters.

During the 3rd quarter, the centre court players worked tirelessly to ensure a lead on the opposition and good communication supported the players in doing so, allowing well timed feeds to be made into the circle to Burgess and Olley.

The final quarter saw a change in centre court, H.Werrell to WA, Smith to C and L.Werrell to WD. The girls continued to work hard with their persistance paying off and gained a 7 goal lead, reflecting in the final score, 39-32.
