With half term, 2 weddings & National clubs U19's, Hucclecote Lightening were down to only 4 squad members of their regular 10! They had to call on players who had not played recently & 3 completely new to the squad this week! With the new combinations, errors were bound to be made, particularly against a very tight marking  & well drilled Rednock.

At times play flowed through court with precision, but too many times passing & handling errors gave Rednock possession too easily. With their shooters particularly on form, netting 37 from 52 attempts, compared to Hucclecotes 29 from 48, it was always an uphill struggle.

Both Emma Jane Curtis & newcomer Anna Robertson worked hard to contain the Rednock shooters, along with Lucy Werrell at GD. Emma McKensie also making her 1st appearance, put in a strong performance at C. Rachel Palmer coming back from injury proved to be Hucclecotes most consistent shooter, converting 18/24, she was paired with Stella Ben Hania & Vicky Brady making a welcome return to court.

Lightening held their own in the 3rd quarter with 9 goals apiece & actually won the last 15mins by 1 goal. The gap however was too much to close, but to lose by only 8 goals with the number of errors made, demonstrates the potential of this squad.
