This result was the win of the day  as Storm only had 3 players on court in the squad who played last year.
With 5 youngsters being brought up into the adult league, it was a very inexperienced team taking on Randwick.
It didn’t help that captain
Issy Farrell injured herself in the warm up & was unable to take the court!
After a nervous start Storm found themselves 4 goals adrift down
8-12.
Ilana Turner in her first adult league match was totally unfazed & took on the shooting netting 8/9 in the first Q.
A re arranging of the team to cope with key players for Randwick, saw Sam Taylor swop ends into defence to close down the talented GA.
Another youngster Georgie Smith came on @ GA with Ilana dropping back to GS. This combination proved to be a winning one turning a 4 goal deficit into a 3 goal lead by half time.
Newcomer Kate O’toole had a strong game @ GK rebounding well, supported by Macey Hamil at Wd bringing the ball out of defence.
Also new to adult league Scarlet Jinks did a great job @ C linking the attack & putting in some precision feeds to both shooters. “Old hands” at this level Tasha Young & Connie Trendle supported the new youngsters well & once in front, Storm kept edging ahead.
This was a fantastic result by a very inexperienced squad with outstanding conversion rate of shots by both Georgie 16/19 & Ilana 32/38. Final result 50-43
Player of the match given to Ilana Turner for an outstanding performance in the shooting circle.
