After a previous victory against Falcons earlier in the season and last weeks recent win to Dextro Blades the squad went into today’s game determined to show Falcons why it is that they deserve to be higher than them in the table.

After a shaky start whereby Hucclecote were losing by 5 goals, the defensive unit of Gabriel, Francis and Essex began to turnover numerous ball despite not being able to pressure the shot of the Falcons GA who was slotting away her attempts with ease.  The attack consisting of Olivia Beveridge, Gemma Gray, Rachel Henry and Becky Hemming started to find their feet as the ball began to flow more smoothly resulting in Hucclecote having a two goal lead at the end of the first quarter.

Towards the end of the second quarter Hucclecote began to pull away and started to move the ball around the court quicker and converted more of their shots than Falcons with the support of the new defensive trio: Jackie Gabriel, Rosie Barrett and Steph Essex continuing to turn more and more ball over.

Going into the third quarter Hucclecote found themselves 8 goals up. Ffion Berry and Sarah Lee settled into the game quickly as we soon found ourselves 10 goals up at the end of the third quarter.

With 15 minutes to go Falcons tried to pull back but with the shooting consistency still remaining from Berry and Beveridge and the ball still being turned over from Gabriel and Barret, Lee and Essex were able to bring the ball down the court smoothly and into the trusted hands of the shoots.

Final Score 44-30 to Hucclecote
