Storm recorded their 17th straight victory to become Division 3 champions.  The squad saw some changes from last week with Beth not available, Fran helping out Thunder who were short of a shooter and Eleri unwell.  However, Ella and Sam made welcome returns to help balance things out.  The team got off to another flying start, with Lily hitting 12 from 12, ably supported in the circle by Iona to take the first quarter 16-8.  There was more of the same in the second quarter with Mary coming in at WA and Ella moving to GD, among other changes.  The opponents were physical in their approach and while decisions didn't seem to go Storm's way, as a mark of undefeated league champions they stuck to their task.  The whole squad dug deep and extended their lead to 30-15 by half-time.  For the third quarter Sam moved to C, and although Stroud looked to intimidate their opponents, Storm were having none of it and kept their heads to further increase their lead to 38-22.  While Stroud made some inroads early in the final quarter, Storm continued to give as good as they got and took the final quarter by the odd goal to win the match by 49-32.  This was an excellent team performance, from Sharon, Hannah and Ella in defence who really battled for the team, Becky, Sam and Mary in the mid-court who linked play through to Lily and Iona up front who returned 80% of their attempts on goal.  Well done girls - a win next week is needed for the clean sweep!
