Hucclecote were in a detemined mood going into this fixture knowing that if they won, and other results went their way that they could move to as high as 2nd in the league. When the two teams met earlier in the year only 1 goal separated them in Hucclecotes favour and the team knew they would have to fight hard and assume nothing. With Academy and Hucclecote sat side by side in the table this was always due to be a tough fixture.

A disappointing start to the game saw Hucclecote make numerous, uncharacteristic passing errors which quickly took its toll resulting in Academy being ahead by several goals at quarter time.

The second quarter started much in the same way and Academy were capitalising on the errors with some accurate shooting and effective rotation in the circle. As the quarter progressed Hucclecote dug deep and managed to close the gap slightly on the home team however the performance still lacked the fluency and ball turnover that Hucclecote have become used to.

Still down at half time and momentum remaining with Academy, changes were made and Trounce was introduced to the court at C. The defence of Gabriel, Fletcher and Barrett began to find a better understanding and Hucclecote began to come back at Academy, closing the gap all the time.

The final quarter saw true grit and determination from the away side to get something out of the game and despite it not always being pretty to watch Hucclecote were able to claw themselves back into the game and the final score was a draw at 39-39. Overall a performance well below par from the Premier team but encouraging to come back from 10 goals down.
