Hucclecote maintained their unbeaten record in Premier Div1 today after a tightly contested match with Stash Blades.

Hucclecote went into a narrow 2 goal lead at the first interval, but could have been 10 goals up if they hadn't squandered possession with numerous errors through court.

It was during the 2nd & 3rd quarters that Hucclecote began to take control of the game. The 2 Rosies at either end of the court, having the most input, with Rosie Allison netting 19 shots & at the other end Rosie Barrett taking 7 interceptions & rebounds.

Mid court, Beccy Hemming & Sarah Lee worked hard to penetrate Blades defensive wall & with Olivia Beveridge, playing wide, did allow the feeders to find Allison a little easier.

At the back Kerry Walsh & then Sam Cook, worked tirelessly to close down Blades attack who were quick & drove to the circle edge strongly. As usual, captain Jackie Gabriel supported Barrett in the circle & made a number of timely mid court interceptions. One of the strengths demonstrated by both players in the circle was their rebounding which they won almost every time a shot was missed.

Overall it was not particularly attractive netball to watch as Blades disrupted our usual fluid play - but it was a result!!!

Well done everyone.

Squad - Rosie Allison (35/45 - 78%) Olivia Beveridge (14/20 - 70%) Gemma Gray, Beccy Hemming, Sarah Lee, Kerry Walsh, Sam Cook, Jackie Gabriel ( Capt) & Rosie Barrett.
