An incredibly close and well fought match with both teams wanting to end the season finishing on a high.
The match was always going to be close; with both teams being goal for goal most way through the first quater. Oaksway got the first break and the first quarter finished with a 13-8 advantage to the visitors. The tempo of the second quarter didn't let off and saw Hucclecote fighting back to enter half time with a 2 goal advantage. The third quarter saw the introduction of a new player for both teams in their attacking ends, allowing the intensity of the match to continue yet maintain the consistency and fluency that had developed. Hucclecote continued to build on their lead in the third quarter and opened up a lead of 6 goals. In the final quarter Oaksway came out fighting and scored 4 goals in a row with Hucclecote yet to score, this reduced the gap dramatically and it continued to be this close throughout the final quarter. In the last few minutes of the game Oaksway had taken a lead of 1 goal, however some fantastic defending from the partnership of Jackie Gabriel and Sam Perry saw some crucial interceptions which allowed Hucclecote to score and level the match. Lots of turnovers occured in the final moments of the game, however no team managed to capitalise on this; seeing the final score at 38-38.
