Vs Challengers (44-25 win)

This week Hurricanes were again struggling to put out a full squad due to injury (Kate Nicholls) and absent players (Charlotte Olly and Emma Mckenzie) in their match against Challengers. The club called upon some players (Alice, Lizzie and Hannah) and Eleri (from Lightning) who were away at university to step in and fill the gaps, but this still left Hucclecote with only a bare seven.

This should have given Challengers an advantage, however Hucclecote showed their strength in performing with three new players in the line up. Hannah and Flo worked the shooting circle with ease and shot consistently well throughout the game, giving Hurricanes an instant lead.

Hucclecote appeared to lack some pace and dynamic play bringing the ball down through the court, but were still able to extend the lead well with no real pressure being applied by Challengers.

Changes in positions were made to allow tired players to rest and still Hucclecote performed well with different combinations. However, the last quarter highlighted that players were beginning to feel tired as this was Challengers best quarter scoring far more than the 3 or 4 goals that they had scored in the previous quarters and forcing Hucclecote to make uneccessary errors bringing the ball down the court.

Yet, still a convincing win with the final score 44-25.
