This final match of the season proved to be one of the tightest with never more than 4 goals separating the two teams.
For the first 15, the score went goal for goal with centre passes, though there were a number of errors from both teams hence the low score of 5 each at quarter time. During the 2nd period the attack of Rachel Aston at WA & shooters Gemma Hallbrook & Carly Taylor began to settle, with Hucclecote netting 100%, but similarly at the other end Toucans were also finding their form & enjoying more possession. Hucclecote were surprised to find themselves 3 goals down at half time, particularly as Capt. Jane Stringer & Clare Richards at the back were in outstanding form, turning numerous ball. Half time, fresh legs in Anna Joll at GA & Sam Cook at GD immediately made an impact. Gemma Hallbrook began to get into her customary shooting accuracy to cut the deficit to only 1 goal with 15 mins to go. Mikaila Iffil had an outstanding half at C & with the defence duo Stringer & Richards closing out & pressurising the Toucans shooters into errors Hucclecote edged into a slight lead with minutes to go. Winning the final quarter 8 goals to the visitors 4 was the turning point & Hucclecote showed extreme determination & character to hold on to win and take the game by 3 goals.
