Prem V Bath

Another solid performance by the Prem squad today at Bath sees them move into top spot in Premier Div1.
In the absence of captain Jackie Gabriel, the defence trio, Rosie Barrett, Sam Perry & Sam Cook really stepped up, tipping, intercepting & rebounding ball.
Initially, the shooting circle took time to settle, but by the 2nd quarter, Rosie Allison (18/23) & Gemma Grey (8/10) gave Hucclecote a 27-15 lead by half time.
Through mid court, error rate was much improved, with Sarah Adams & Becky Vaughn, using the width of the court & back up from Perry on the line when the first time feed was not an option.
At the back, Rosie Barret & Sam Perry were on top form, denying Bath's shooters of many opportunities ( 8 attempts in the 2nd quarter) forcing Bath to make team changes for the 2nd half.

Fresh legs at half time in the shooting circle in Olivia Beveridge for Hucclecote, took a few minutes to settle, but once in her stride, Beveridge found Allison with ease, putting in some precision feeds.
With each quarter, Hucclecote extended their lead, forcing Bath into handling errors. When all players stuck to task, Hucclecote earned a number of 3 second decisions, gaining possession to set up the attack again.
Neela Brenan coming on at WA for the last 15 mins showed her understanding with Allison, putting in some carefully placed feeds.
It was only Baths tenacity that denied Hucclecote a 30 goal victory, but nevertheless, it was a convincing win by 21 goals.
