This "in house" match is always keenly contested & usually brings out the best performance from "the underdogs".

Saturday was no exception, with never more than 3 or 4 goals between them, though to be fair, Hurricanes were playing a player short!

With Millie Price at U19 Nationals with Hartpury & Kat Honeywill on loan to Storm, Lightning saw the welcome return of Sarah Amey, her first game for a couple of months.

Her experience combined well with Wendy Burgess in the shooting circle, & between them, when the ball did get past the tight marking defence, they both shot well. Lightning used the extra player in attack to good effect, being patient to find the shooters-eventually!

Lizza & Jo at the back, are developing a good working relationship in the circle & did put Olley & Hogg under some pressure, intercepting a number of feeds.

Mid court, youngsters, Becky Campbell is developing well getting exposure at Div 1 & Georgia Wing at C continues to improve with every game. They were both supported by Becky Woodhead at WA who fed Amey & Burgess accurately.

With scores level in the final quarter, it looked like Lightning might upset the formbook, but Hurricanes experience pulled them through to a well deserved victory, to take the game in the final few minutes by 7 goals.
