With regular squad members, Millie Price, Jo Hutchings & Sarah Amey missing, Lightning had to call upon newcomer Angharad Davies & past players Lily Simmonds & Kerry Bignell to fill the gaps!

Play was evenly contested for the first quarter, though it was Hucclecote that took an early lead 12-6. An unfortunate injury to youngster Georgia Wing early in the 2nd half meant Lightning had to totally re organise their line up. With Davies coming on at GS & the whole attacking unit moving forward, Lightning initially lost their impetus, allowing Randwick back into the game.

The game was evenly poised when, during ther 3rd quarter, Randwicks GS suffered a back injury having to leave the court. With no sub available, Randwick found it difficult to keep possession as Lightning made the most of their extra player.

During the 2nd half particularly, Wendy Burgess, took control of the shooting circle, netting  19/22. At the other end, Lizza Mitchell turned a number of balls, earning her joint player of the match with Burgess.
