Hucclecote gave another strong performance against local rivals Gloucester Ladies. They approached the game under no assumption that it would be an automatic win, even with Ladies at the bottom of the table & Hucclecote on the top.

The first quarter Hucclecote took time to settle establishing only a three goal lead at the interval. The 2nd period saw Hucclecote totally dominate, scoring 18 goals to Ladies 3, taking the score to 30 - 13. The shooting combination of Rhianna Hallbrook & Nicki Guest began to get the better of the Ladies defence, with some sharp shooting & slick moves between the two. Hallbrook demonstrated her increasing maturity coping with a much more experienced defender, netting 41 of 50 attempts.

Kirsty Trueman at WA & Sarah Amey at C gave strong performances finding the shooters with ease. Lizzie Bryant at WD worked hard to contain the talented WA, forcing the Ladies attack into errors. The circle duo of Captain Liz Ashmead & Charlotte Johnson tipped & intercepted numerous feeds, restricting Ladies shooters to only 9 attempts at goal. Fresh legs at half time allowed Hucclecote to continue to dominate during the 2nd half.

Tammy Powell played a very controlled half at WA, with Trueman moving to C. Hallbrook was joined by Alice Marler in the shooting making a welcome return after illness. Kayleigh Garbutt Roberts coming on at GK combined well with Ashmead turning over a number of clean interceptions. This squad continues to improve with any combination looking a match winner, its strength being its depth & versatility.
