This match with Lawn who are in 2nd spot proved to be a tight "top of the table" encounter! Hucclecote who have been riding high all season topping the Regional league, began with their usual confidence, establishing a narrow 3 goal lead after 15 mins.

Sam Cook was strong in the attacking third, linking well with Rhianna Hallbrook who has been the dominant shooter for much of the season. Mid court, Sarah Amey, Tammy Powell & Kirsty Trueman moved the ball well through court with less errors than of late. Alice Marler coming on into the shooting circle, first with Cook, then Hallbrook is beginning to play with her old confidence after her recent absence due to illness.

Hucclecte edged their lead to 4, then 5 goals after each quarter, with Lizzie Bryant coming on to add fresh impetus at WD. hounding Lawn's WA!

Captain Liz Ashmead & Charlotte Johnson, Hucclecotes circle defence were in outstanding form, turning numerous balls & winning rebounds. It was only the accuracy of Lawns shooters when they did get the ball that kept them in such close contention.  Once again this was an excellent squad performance from Hucclecote, who kept their discipline & composure in what was a fiercely contested, physical match. Thanks to David Stringer who stepped in to umpire for Hucclecote, keeping control well.
