Hucclecote eventually came out on top in this hard fought physical contest with 3rd placed Pinehurst.
Hucclecote struggled to settle, particularly in attack where a number of unforced errors gave the edge to the Swindon side, allowing them to go into a narrow early lead. Once again it was the accuracy of 15yr old Rhianna Hallbrook for Hucclecote netting 16/21 in the first half. The attack & mid court struggled to gel for most of the game, whatever combination was on court. At the back captain Liz Ashmead & Charlotte Johnson were outstanding, pressurising the Swindon shooters, taking interceptions & winning rebounds. Their combined turnover count for the game was almost 30! Hucclecote turned the game in the 3rd quarter to edge into a 3 goal lead. During the final 15mins, for the most part Hucclecote kept their composure to retain possession & keep the advantage. With only 3 games left, Hucclecote are still in top position in the table & are hoping to win this league where they have only had 1 loss to date.
