Hucclecote 38 - Galmington 39 3rd October 2010

With new players being added to the regional B side this week, the team had to settle quickly as Galmington weren't going to come all the way up the M5 looking for anything less than a win.

The team started slowly, easing the new players into attack and defence, however Galmington took opportunities and capitalized from too many forced errors by

Hucclecote.Finishing the first quarter 7-10.

The second quarter started with changes in attack and defence and we started to find our rhythm and played quick sharp netball. The change in defence made a difference

with balls being turned over in and out of the circle, however too many of the passes into the circle were wayward resulting in them flying off the backline and Galmington took every opportunity to pull away. 13-19.

With the 3rd quarter tending to be our worst, after a good team talk we were determined to take this game and make it first win. With more changes being made to the attack the

team worked tirelessly throughout the court man-to-man to put the pressure on which paid off tremendously, as we won the quarter, going into the last 1 goal behind.29-30.

Going into the last quarter only down by 1 this game was ours for the taking and we really wanted our first win of the season. To do this the team had to keep

the pressure on and keeping the error rate down in the shooting third. However although all players tried tirelessly to turn the ball over and work together Galmington just had the edge and held on for a narrow win. 38-39.

Players of the match went to Freya in defence and Helen in attack.; two players at the opposite ends of the court. Which just shows the depth & talent of this newly grown squad. With team Bath next weekend we are pumped to get our 1st win.
