This was a closely contested match throughout, which Lightning hung onto in the final minutes!

Glos Ladies starting with a 5 goal lead, initially held the advantage, extending it to 9 at the first interval.

Young shooter, Maisie Simmonds quite unusually for her, struggled to convert in this first period, netting only 50% of her shots. With the rest of the team not really making an impact on their opposite player & chasing rather than contesting, Ladies looked the more confident.

During the 2nd quarter, Lightning began to pressurise & take command. Lydia Burgess at WD hassled & tipped balls & with Becky Campbell joining Nicki Jennings in the defence circle, the tide turned! From being 9 goals adrift, Lightning went into half time 1 goal ahead, 28-27.

Wendy Burgess at GA found Simmonds with ease who was now well into her stride & converting 8/8 & 10/11 in the next 2 quarters.

Katie Lyons at C began to dominate her player & with Kat Honeywill on the wing also finding more space, Lightning edged into a 4 goal lead by 3/4 time.

During the final 15 minutes, Glos Ladies rallied, but with fresh legs in Lilly Simmonds now on WD, Lightning kept their heads to make it, quite deservedly to the final.
