- And we raised.....
Thank you to all that donated items for our recent fundraising activity
Hucclecote Netball Club have raised £198.16
by getting their members to gather all their unwanted quality clothes, shoes and bags. In conjunction with a new social enterprise, Bag4Sport, all the clothes are collected then weighed and the club receives money per kilo. The clothes then get sent on to people in Eastern Europe and Africa.
Not only does the club benefit but there are environmental and social benefits. Rather than the clothes going to landfill they get passed on to people who would otherwise not be able to afford these clothes so it is recycling and helping those in less privileged situations abroad.
The club are delighted by the results ‘We are so pleased and thankful for the amount of items donated by our members. We had such a great response and the money will help the club with its ever-increasing expenses. It is also great to know that we are helping others and the environment in this fundraising initiative.’
The club is now looking for more ways to raise funds and is concentrating on trying to find sponsors for a number of teams. Last season it cost just over £4,000 to run the club, has over 180 players and is all managed by volunteers. If you know a company who maybe interested in supporting please see tell your coach.
