Hucclecote’s Premier squad suffered a heavy defeat on Sunday against Oldham, last years Premier Div 1 champions. Hucclecote were no match for Oldham, fielding a number of Northern Thunder Super League players, going down 33-66.
Regional Stars, playing Roman Glass, had a similar scoreline, but in Hucclecotes favour as they had an emphatic win 62-26. Regional Comets took on the experienced Carol Anne from Devon and stayed in contention till the latter stages of the game, finally losing by only 9 goals, 34-43
Hurricanes were forced to put out another new line up with a number of players unavailable. Although they struggled at times to play with consistency, they always held a slim lead and went on to win 37-30 against Challengers  Rockets.
Lightning also playing in the Premier Division at Bentham, slipped to a 10 goal loss against Challengers Flyers. Once again new combinations were used which will inevitably take time to settle.
Hucclecote Storm in Div 1 suffered a heavy defeat against Churchdown 17-32. However this U16 squad did well to salvage a point from the game.
Tornadoes playing in Div 2 had a  competitive game, also against a Churchdown side. This squad made up from U15 & U 14 players did really well in a game which saw the lead change hands several times.
Up to the final minutes it was anyones game & it was only the experience of Churchdown which gave them the edge to snatch victory by 2 goals 41-39.
The juniors` were also in action on Sunday in the Bentham League. The U16 B’s went down 9-20 against Cirencester & the U14 B’s had a resounding win over Tommies by 40 goals `to 4.
This Sunday  Hucclecote’s Premier squad are back in action v Team Bath. The match is home at Cheltenham College start time 11.30am.
