WEEK 6 Round up

Wih no local league matches, it fell to Hucclecotes Premier & Regional teams to provide the entertainment last week end.

A good crowd turned up at Cheltenham to see HucclecotePremier take on Blades from Bournemouth. Even with players missing due to injury & national call up, confidence was high, particularly as Blades results so far has left them near the bottom of Div 1.

Although the game started evenly, it didn’t take Blades long to establish a narrow lead, through unforced errors by the home team and accurate shooting by the visitors. Blades dominated for ¾’s of the match and it was only in the final 15mins thatHucclecote’s spirited come back saw them win that quarter, but lose the match 34-49 goals.

Both Hucclectes Regional teams fared better.

Stars travelled to Plymouth to take on Marjon, where once again they put on an impressive display of Netball. Although scores `were fairly close for the first half, during the 2nd half they pulled away to win 53-26. Stars continue to dominate the Regional League, still looking on course for promotion back into Regional League 1.

Comets entertained Roman Glass from Bristol who werebolstered by a couple of their Premier League players. The game was closely contested throughout, with never more than 3 goals separating the scores. As the game was in its dying seconds with scores level, it took a penalty shot after the final whistle for Comets to snatch the win & take all 5 points.
