23 January 2014 - Weekly round up
See how all the teams did this week
Hucclecote Hurricanes secured their place in The Bateman Cup semi final with a convincing win over Cleeve Fillies 55 – 38.  Although Fillies shooting was on form, they couldn’t compete with the speed of Hurricanes play through court.
Hurricanes continued their winning run with an emphatic win over Challengers Flyers 52 – 21. This puts them back on top of the Premier Division with Gloucester Ladies close on their tail who have a game in hand.
Lightning gave the league chasers, Gloucester Ladies A a good game only losing by 14 goals, 30-44.
Storm in Division 1 couldn’t contain Nomads who are near the top of the Division, going down 18-54. Meanwhile Tornandoes in Div 2 scraped home against Seven Up winning 36-33. After a strong start  going into a 10 goal lead after the first quarter, errors crept into their game allowing Seven Up to close the gap. A tenacious rally by the more experienced Seven Up in the final quarter saw them get to within a goal, but Tornadoes dug deep to hang onto a well deserved win 36-33. U16`s had a fantastic result against Jersey Jets, winning 3rd match in regional division 1, 38-37 a real nail biter - 3 more matches to go, a step closer to the Nationals.
Hucclecote Stars totally dominated Carol Anne from Devon in their re arranged Regional match netting 73 goals to the visitors 26.
With no league games this week end due to the Regional schools tournament and The Bateman Cup Round, the only Hucclecote team in action is the Premier Team who take on Bath away in a local derby in Division 1 of the Premier League.
