25 August 2021 - We have a lockdown hero!

“Everyone who knows Sue Wainwright will agree that she has a netball river running through her veins ! Never have we come across anyone who just `won’t give in`, even during the pandemic to netball coming to a halt! Whether it was Coaches meetings on zoom, arranging netball in Aldi`s car park, constant calls to GCNA committee to reinstate and get things moving again, she never once gave up and was always the optimistic one to keep netball on the move. With every announcement from England Netball, the calls and messages began again, coffee meetings arranged at the Meadow Cafe in Cheltenham, or at Pittville Park outdoors to reunite members to see what more they could do. And alongside this, Sue is so driven to stay fit herself that the many online zoom sessions, or hit sessions that were organised , Sue was often the most regular face to see taking part even though in her late 60`s! Sue is an inspiration to netballers all over the County, and particularly at her own club Hucclecote, and is one tough cookie who even the pandemic was never going to get the better of!”
