Hucclecote U14’s triumphant in Regionals.

Hucclecote U14 squad battled through the Regional finals on Sunday, winning through to the National finals in June. They won all their matches bar one, losing out narrowly to Poole who finished as runners up and will join Hucclecote in Norwich at the National finals.

The performance of the day was against Bournemouth, who had looked the favoured team to go through. After going 3 goals down in the first half, Hucclecote’s determination turned the game around to win 10-7.

Other results, a close encounter with Team Bath 11-9, followed by convincing wins over all others. East Devon 1, 17-4, East Devon 2, 18-5, Keltic Dolphins  19-6 & Plymouth 20-6.

The shooting consistency of Lydia Hallbrook & Flo Edwards ensured that even with the one loss against Poole, Hucclecotes goal difference was far superior.

Mid court players, Captain Milly Price,  Rosie Johnson, Lauren Brooks, Holly Walker & Lydia Jones supported each other well whatever combination coach Arni Brown put on court.

Hucclecote’s circle defence duo, Megan Suddaby & Fliss Phillips worked tirelessly throughout the day, turning ball & winning rebounds.

This result was a fantastic squad performance which now puts them in the top 18 club teams in the country at their age group.

Thanks to Team Manager Ali Edwards & all parents & supporters who travelled to Swindon.  The squad are now looking forward to the challenge of the finals & know they have some hard work to do between now & June if they are to perform well against the best teams in the country.
