We’re thrilled to share that our very own Gilly Salter has been recognised by England Netball with a Long Service Award, celebrating her outstanding contribution to the sport over many decades.
This prestigious award recognises individuals who have contributed 25 years or more of service at one or more of the following levels: county, regional, national and international. They have dedicating significant time across coaching, officiating, volunteering or leadership roles and have helped to improve the lives of netballers around them. Gilly’s passion for the game, her commitment to developing players of all ages, and her unwavering support for the netball community have made her a much-loved figure both within HNC and across Gloucestershire Netball.
Reflecting on the award, Gilly said:
“I am truly thankful to those that nominated me for my England Netball Long Service Award. It was a wonderful surprise and I am very humbled. Along with being made an Honorary Life Member a few years ago, and now receiving this award, means so much after giving a lifetime of enjoyable support to this wonderful game of ours. Thank you and congratulations to all the other nominations, particularly my wing man in my Young England days Linda Dyer and Gloucestershire Netball’s very own legend Lesley Thomas.”
Everyone at HNC is incredibly proud of Gilly’s achievement. Her enthusiasm, generosity, and dedication continue to inspire players and volunteers alike. Congratulations, Gilly — and thank you for everything you’ve done, and continue to do, for our club and for the sport we all love.
